---++ Step Glitches and Squid jumps

  • In 70% ...
    • When you have step glitches correlated across many channels, it seems to be always due to to a squid jump in one channel: A8. I have looked at 27 step glitches in 70% (I think that's all there is), and found that they all corresponded to a squid jump.
      • see ~ccohalan/plots/70%_squidjump_steps_eg.ps and 70%_channels-C1-A8.ps
    • There is another type of glitch, which is correlated across as many bolometers as the last type, but which is not due to a suid jump. I have found only 2 of this type of glitch in 70%.
      • see ~ccohalan/plots/70%_nosquid_glitch_eg.ps
    • One channel, A4, has step functions which are not correlated with other channels, in addition to the ones that are. These step functions are smaller, and are not correlated with squid jumps.
      • see ~ccohalan/plots/70%_channels-A4-A8.ps
    • Channel A7 's squid jumps non stop, but it doesn't seem to affect too much.

  • In 50% ...
    • The 50% does not have any squid jumps. Incidently, it does not have step functions either.
    • It does, however, have the second type of glitch, once again correlated across the bolometers.
      • see ~ccohalan/50%_nosquid_glitch_eg.ps
    • Channel A7's squid still jumps like mad.
